Max Verstappen states the he is still not a supporter of the sprint race concept despite having won the event at Imola.

Earlier this weekend Verstappen admitted that he was “not a fan” of sprint races in Formula 1. On Saturday, the Dutchman won the Sprint and got the Emilia Romagna GP pole position.

Despite a success, Verstappen did not change his opinion about the concept.

“No, it [the Imola Sprint] doesn’t [change the opinion] for me. I’m still not a fan of sprint races because in the end it doesn’t change anything.

“It doesn’t matter if you have such a good fight during the sprint race or during the actual race. I just like the way the whole weekend goes much better with a normal weekend schedule.”
