Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto has reflected on a difficult Emilia Romagna Grand Prix for them.

Ferrari did not have a smooth day at Imola. Carlos Sainz’s race was over after he was stuck in gravel following a contact with Daniel Ricciardo at the start. Charles Leclerc was not able to reach Red Bulls and almost ended his race in a barrier later on. As a result, he crossed the finish line 6th.

After the race, Binotto admitted that the team was not happy with the outcome of the race, though it was a “part of racing.”

“Obviously, we are a bit unhappy for the results of today,” he told Sky Sports.

“I think we need to keep [our] heads up. It’s part of racing; some races may go wrong and it has been [that way] today.

“But I think we’ve still got a competitive package, [so] I think we need to keep the smile on and look forward to the next races.”
