Carlos Sainz is delighted with his performance in Saturday’s Sprint Race at Imola.

After a crash in qualifying on Friday, Sainz started the Sprint 10th. In 21 laps, the Spaniard managed to get to P4. He reflected on the performance.

“We made up the maximum places that we could make up today. was a solid race, no issues,” Sainz said.

“Just getting to learn the car, keep learning the car in the dry because we’ve done very little laps. Today was a positive race.”

At the same time, the Ferrari driver admitted that they need to catch up with Red Bull Racing.

“The only negative is that the Red Bulls seem to have a bit more race pace than us here and that we’re going to need to find some pace in the dry if we want to put up a fight with them.”
