Mattia Binotto confirms that Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are allowed to fight each other on the race track.

After the first three races of the 2022 season, Leclerc looks to be one of the title contenders with 71 points scored. Meanwhile, Sainz is 3rd in the standings, 38 points behind the Monegasque.

Though there is a significant gap between the teammates, Binotto states that Ferrari do not intend to use team orders that early in the season.

“It’s only three races which have been done now. There are still 20 races left, hopefully 19 or 20. So the championship is still very long,” the Ferrari team principal said.

“Our drivers are free to fight, and I am really looking forward and enjoying that they are battling for a good place, and first place, if possible.”
