Pierre Gasly admits that he and Yuki Tsunoda are not delighted with their car at the moment.
After the first three races of the 2022 season, AlphaTauri are 8th in the Constructors’ Championship with 10 points scored. Gasly shared his thoughts about the performance of the AT03 car.
“I must say, we are learning every single session. I think it’s pretty much like any other team, we’re trying to develop the car constantly, weekend after weekend,” he said.
“It’s really tight in the midfield, but we haven’t reached a point where both Yuki and myself are really happy with the car that we have.”
The teams are expected to bring significant car updates at the Emilia Romagna GP next weekend. AlphaTauri are not an exception. Gasly revealed that they have an opportunity to improve the position in the pecking order.
“There is quite a lot of work that we’re trying to do over the next couple of races to try to improve the balance, to try to find more performance.
“These two-tenths that we could find in the midfield could mean that we go from P14 to P7.
“It’s extremely important that we keep focusing on ourselves, but I’m confident in the team, and in ourselves, to make this progress over the next few weeks.”
