Christian Horner admits that Red Bull Racing do not object to talks about possible cooperation with new engine manufacturers.
The Volkswagen Group confirmed on Thursday that they intend to join Formula 1 in 2026 with Audi and Porsche brands. At the same time, they stayed in the “final evaluation phase.”
Red Bull are believed to join forces with Porsche in that case. During the Australian GP, Horner spoke about the negotiations with potential manufacturers.
“It would be very easy, but it would have to be with the right partner of course. It would therefore be logical for us to hold discussions with both OEMs, or any serious OEM,” the Red Bull team principal said.
“For us, [Red Bull] Powertrains is ongoing, it’s on schedule, and we’re really excited about the talent that we’ve managed to attract into the business.”
