Carlos Sainz said he is close to signing a new deal to stay at Scuderia Ferrari beyond the 2022 season.
The Spanish driver had an excellent start of the year as he placed second in the Scuderia’s 1-2 at Bahrain. Now, Sainz admits he is “extremely close” to signing a deal that would extend his stay at the red team.
“I think we are close. Very close. Very, very close. Very close. Extremely close. Nearly there,” Formula1.com quotes him.
“I think we found an agreement. It’s only a matter to translate it into paper,” Mattia Binotto then added.
