Mercedes chief Andrew Shovlin is not happy with the current situation of the team after the end of the first free practice.

Formula 1 is back with the 2022 season kicking off at the Bahrain International Circuit. The Silver Arrows struggled through Practice 1, and Shovlin knows that.

The team continues to look for a solution to the porpoising problem in what they call a “continuation of testing” following pre-season.

“It’s a continuation of the testing,” Shovlin said.

“We played with the ride height of the car this session. If we can see who is fast and we see that Red Bull or Ferrari is faster then we will start looking at their solutions, but for now, we are focusing on our own solution.

“The updates have not delivered everything we expected.”
