Sergio Perez has set the fastest lap time of Saturday’s morning testing session at the Bahrain International Circuit.

The teams and drivers had last 8 hours to work with the new cars before the Bahrain GP next week.

Red Bull caught everyone’s eye because of the updates they brought for the final day of testing. The changes included new sidepods that could be a response to Mercedes’ radical design.

McLaren brought new parts as well in order to combat the issue with brakes overheating that had arisen lately.

Haas started the day an hour earlier than anyone else as they were allowed to make up time after having missed Thursday’s morning session. Though they were delighted with their run, they needed to fix the water pressure leak on Kevin Magnussen’s car. Later on, they had to deal with a fuel system problem.

Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly showed how closely the new cars could follow each other on track.

Sergio Perez topped the standings on Saturday morning in the updated RB18. Guanyu Zhou was second, while Gasly had the third quickest lap time of the session.
