Helmut Marko reveals that Red Bull Racing had to deal with some issues during the preparation for the 2022 F1 season.

Adapting to the dramatic changes to technincal regulations is not easy for F1 teams. Red Bull is not an exception as Marko has stated that they also faced some difficulties while developing the RB18 car.

“We faced two or three big hurdles [in preparing for 2022],” the Red Bull advisor told Kleine Zeitung.

“It was the biggest change in regulations in the last 15 or 20 years. All the new designs and planning had to be done within the budget cap, and then we were fighting for a world championship and had to move the new car forward at the same time.”

After the presentation of the RB18, it was noticed that the car looked similar to the demo version of a 2022 car, provided by FOM. Marko has confirmed that the actual car is yet to be unveiled.

“That was a presentation for the time being.

“It’s especially important for our partners. The first roll-out will take place later. And until the first race in Bahrain, there will be some changes.

“We don’t reveal everything at the presentation, there are still some updates to come.”
