Mercedes’ 2022 F1 challenger W13 has failed to pass a side impact crash test ahead of the new Formula 1 season.
As reported by Motorsport.com, Mercedes have not passed the side impact crash test recently, which means that the new car is yet to be approved by the FIA.
At the same time, Mercedes are not concerned much about the results of the test. The sidepod that was used was experimental. The Silver Arrows already have a safer option that will be put on the car.
The crash test issue is unlikely to significantly affect Mercedes’ preparation for the 2022 season.
