Alexander Smolyar will join MP Motorsports for a full-time Formula 3 season in 2022, announced on Thursday.
The Russian driver had competed with ART Grand Prix for the past two seasons, filled with highs and lows. He now will make the move to MP Motorsports, hoping to have a better performance and finally progress up the ladder to Formula 2.
“I’m delighted to team up with MP Motorsports for another season in FIA F3,” Smolyar said. “Last year, I fought many does with MP’s cars as they challenged for the podium finishes that I was aiming to achieve as well, and now we’re together, hoping to take as many wins as we possibly can.
“We’ll be preparing ourselves to the maximum before we hit the road for testing and the first round in Bahrain,” he concluded.
