Stephane Peterhansel has spoken about his performance in stage 10 of the 2022 Dakar Rally.

After a lot of issues earlier in the rally, Mister Dakar finally won a stage in this year’s edition of the event. The Frenchman was 2 minutes and 6 seconds ahead of his Audi teammate Carlos Sainz, who was in P2.

Peterhansel admitted that he had not had any issues during Wednesday’s stage.

“It was one of our first clean specials, without shock absorber issues, punctures, or navigation problems. We haven’t had any big mechanicals since the start of the second week, so we’re making good progress and having fun driving the car,” he said.

Audi now has 3 stage victories at the 2022 Dakar Rally as Peterhansel, Sainz, and Mattias Ekstrom have 1 win each. Peterhansel is delighted with Audi’s progress and has set a goal for next year.

“I’m not necessarily a stage hunter, but each Audi driver has now won a stage, and that’s fantastic. When Carlos became the first driver to win a Dakar stage in an electric car, it was a milestone, now we confirmed that performance.

“This is good for morale, not least because it comes after a complicated start to the rally. We need to win in 2023. Failure is not an option.”
