The FIM is devising a way to assign times to each quadbike competitor after an interruption to the stage halted their progress.

The quadbikes race along stage 5 of the 2022 Dakar Rally came to a stop with few waypoints remaining.

A decision made amongst the race management of the Dakar Rally brought both the quadbike, bike, and classic race to a stop. This was to account for the high demand for medical aircraft present at the event. The decision came as a way of prioritizing rider safety rather than the completion of the stage.

As a result, the majority of riders in the quadbike class failed to reach the final waypoint. Therefore, the FIM needed to come up with a that fairly gives the riders times for the stage, taking into account their times at each time check.

Alexandre Giroud led Pablo Copetti by around 6 and a half minutes at the last waypoint before the interruption. In third place sat Kamil Wisniewksi, a further minute behind Copetti.

The final results will be released as soon as the FIM has come to a decision. Check in with ASN soon as possible to catch the results.
