Aston Martin have announced this Thursday that Otmar Szafanuer is no longer their team principal.
Big changes will happen at Aston Martin ahead of the 2022 Formula 1 season. They will enter the new era of the sport without Szafnauer as the team principal.
Szafnauer joined the team in 2009 when it was called Force India. He had a significant influence on the team’s development and helped them make a progress throughout 12 years.
“Otmar Szafnauer has left the Company and his role at Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team will be managed within the leadership team until a replacement is appointed,” the statement reads.
“We would like to thank him for the service provided to the team over the past 12 years and wish him well for the future as he will undoubtedly take on new challenges.”
Szafnauer’s next destination is yet to be revealed, but according to the rumors, he might join Alpine.
