Here is what to expect from stage 2 of the 2022 Dakar Rally – a trip from Ha’il to Al Artawiyah.

With the first two-part stage out of the way, the participants move on to a 568 km trek on Monday, January 3rd.

Stage 2 is a long route from Ha’il to Al Artawiyah, including a 338 km special stage along with the 230 km liaison. Stage 1B was a loop from Ha’il back to the same location again. However, this second stage will take the competitors across the arduous Saudi Arabian desert, far east of Ha’il.

It won’t be an easy journey for the drivers and riders, with stage 2 set to provide steep dunes to traverse as they make their way to Al Artawiyah.

The dunes of the desert can bite hard, with many participants ruining their race on these hazardous mounds of sand in the past. This makes the early stages of the 2022 Dakar Rally especially challenging.

This course will make up day 3 of the Dakar Rally – a stage you will not want to miss. Catch the action on ASN as this iconic event kicks off the 2022 motorsport season.
