Sebastien Loeb admits that he is extremely motivated to finally win the Dakar Rally in his sixth attempt.
The 2021 Dakar Rally was one to forget for Loeb. The Frenchman faced plenty of technical issues and did not manage to reach the finish line. Loeb revealed that he is ready to fight for victory in 2022.
“For sure, we’re as motivated. Last year, it was the first year of Prodrive driving in Dakar, so we were discovering a lot of things,” Loeb said in the interview with ASN Motorsports.
The Bahrain Raid Xtreme driver was delighted with the performance and experience he got last time around but stated that any issue could be critical at Dakar.
“I think the performance was not so bad, we had some little issues, but nothing really bad. [Though], in Dakar, even a little issue can be bad, so we couldn’t reach the end of the race, but I think the experience we took there will be very beneficial for this year, and now that we have driven there, we have much more experience,” Loeb added.
“Hopefully, it will be beneficial and hopefully, we’ll be in the right rhythm to fight for the victory.”
