Lando Norris has shared his thoughts about Max Verstappen’s success in the 2021 Formula 1 season.

This past season has been full of ups and downs for Verstappen. On the one hand, the Dutchman had his best season in F1 with a lot of highlights. On the other hand, he had a lot of unlucky moments and had to battle with Lewis Hamilton, who had a quicker car at the end of the season. In the end, Verstappen overcame all challenges and won the 2021 world championship.

Norris has emphasized the adversity Verstappen had to go through during the 2021 season.

“I congratulate him [Verstappen] for what he’s done this season because I don’t believe he’s had the better car this season,” Norris said.

“I think the Mercedes has been the better car throughout the majority of the season and Max has been more unlucky and I think made less mistakes as a driver. Lewis has a lot more experience, won many more championships, and so on.

“I’m very happy for him [Verstappen]. He’s a good friend of mine. I congratulated him earlier, but I also congratulated Lewis because he’s also had an amazing season and done many things very, very well to go for a championship.”
