Jack Doohan and Marino Sato will team up at Virtuosi Racing in the 2022 Formula 2 season.
The 2022 F2 grid starts forming up. Virtuosi Racing has confirmed earlier on Monday that Doohan and Sato will join the team next year.
Doohan reacted to the announcement: “I’m very pleased and excited to join forces with Virtuosi Racing for our 2022 FIA Formula 2 campaign. I’m looking forward to continuing the team’s success and getting to work with the team in post-season testing this coming week!”
Sato added: “It’s really a privilege to join a team that is fighting for the championship. I have to say a big thank you to everyone involved in making this happen, and to the team for trusting me. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season!”
Doohan is the 2021 Formula 3 runner-up with 4 wins, 2 pole positions, and 7 podiums at Trident. He also made his F2 debut with MP Motorsport in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi. His best result was P5 in Sprint Race 2 in Jeddah.
Sato drove for Trident in F2 past season and scored 1 point to finish 21st in the standings.
