Lewis Hamilton has reflected on the incredible 2021 F1 season after the dramatic Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Hamilton was on the verge of winning the record-breaking 8th world championship, but in the end, he lost the title to Max Verstappen after hectic final laps.

After the race, the Mercedes driver congratulated his opponent on the achievement: “Firstly, big congratulations to Max and to his team.”

Hamilton was also grateful to his team for the efforts they had put throughout the year.

“I think we did an amazing job this year. My team, everyone back at the factory, all the men and women, we have worked so hard this whole year. It’s been the most difficult of seasons,” he added.

“And I’m so proud of them, so grateful to be a part of the journey with them. We gave it everything. This last part of the season we gave it absolutely everything and we never gave up and that’s the most important thing.”

“I’ve been feeling great in the car these past couple of months particularly, at the end. We’ll see about next year,” Hamilton concluded.
