The Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto says the rumors regarding Jean Todt’s return to the team are “only speculations”.

A few days ago, an Italian media outlet Corriere della Serra claimed that the retiring FIA president Jean Todt was in talks to rejoin Ferrari as a consultant. Their article mentioned that Todt allegedly had recent talks with Ferrari chairman John Elkann.

However, Binotto shut down these rumors. He implied that there is currently little discussion about whether or not Todt would return to the company he once led.

“I heard and I read about some speculation in that respect, but I can say that so far they are only speculations,” Binotto said.

“Personally I have worked with Jean Todt, he has been my boss, I think I learned a lot from him.”

“It has been an honor to work with him and whatever would be the future it would still be an honor for me to work together with him because I still believe that as a team there’s still much to learn.”
