Logan Sargeant will receive his first taste of a Formula 1 car with Williams at the post-season Abu Dhabi test.

Sargeant is joining Williams for the customary post-season F1 test in Abu Dhabi, which will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday following the Abu Dhabi GP.

The 20-year-old began his racing career in the 2016-17 Formula 4 UAE Championship after numerous titles in his karting career. Sargeant finished runner-up in his rookie year, before participating in the F4 British Championship with Carlin to finish 3rd.

Another highlight of Sargeant’s career was the 2020 F3 season, where he competed in a fierce battle with the current F2 championship leader Oscar Piastri at PREMA Racing. In the end, he would come up short and ended the season in P3 after Theo Pourchaire joined the fight.

While 2021 has been a more quiet year for Sargeant, he was picked up in October for the Williams Racing Driver Academy.

Now, Sargeant finds himself in the line-up for testing next week and his first drive in a Formula 1 car.

“I can’t wait for my first run in a Formula 1 car and want to thank the team for trusting me with this amazing opportunity,” Sargeant said.

“I’ve been spending time in the factory at Grove and getting to grips with the simulator, which has helped me get an initial feel for the characteristics of the FW43B, but to be able to get out on track will be an incredible experience and one that I won’t forget.”

“I’ll be going into the test looking to perform the best I can and to learn as much as possible from the team.”
