Haas has confirmed that Pietro Fittipaldi will stay in the team as the test and reserve driver next season.

Fittipaldi will be present in the Formula 1 paddock in the upcoming season – he will continue his duties as the Haas test and reserve driver.

The 25-year-old joined Haas back in 2019. He made his F1 debut at the 2020 Sakhir GP, where he had to replace Romain Grosjean. He finished 17th in that race. He then drove the VF-20 car at the Abu Dhabi GP and went on to get P19.

“I’m naturally very happy and excited again by the opportunity to continue my association with Haas,” Fittipaldi reacted to the announcement.

“I’ve been with the team for a few seasons now and they very much feel like family. I’ve learned a lot in my time and I hope I can keep contributing with the introduction of the new generation of Formula 1 car in 2022.”

“It’s going to be exciting to see what’s coming with the new package and I’m obviously as keen as the rest of the team to see what the VF-22 will accomplish on-track.”
