The FIA has released an official statement regarding the crash at the start of the Formula 2 Feature Race in Jeddah.
Sunday’s Formula 2 race in Saudi Arabia was affected by a nasty incident at the start. Theo Pourchaire stalled on the grid, while Enzo Fittipaldi was not able to avoid him and made a collision with the ART GP driver. The race was stopped.
Eventually, the FIA provided an update on the condition of both Fittipaldi and Pourchaire.
“The drivers were immediately attended to by emergency and medical crews. The drivers were conscious and extricated by the attending medical crews. Both have been transferred by ambulance and helicopter to King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital, Jeddah,” the statement reads.
