Valtteri Bottas has described his approach to the Saudi Arabian GP, revealing that he could help Lewis Hamilton get the victory.

Sunday’s race in Jeddah can be vital in terms of the championship battle as only 8 points separate the title protagonists Verstappen and Hamilton. The Mercedes driver got the early advantage by starting from the pole position and having Bottas on the front row.

The Finn admitted that he would be a team player during the race and help score as many points as possible.

“If there’s a chance I can win the race, I’ll try, but if not, then we need to maximize the team result,” Bottas said.

“I’m not fighting for the world championship anymore, so I’ll keep that in mind. Lewis and Max are, so we need to see what is the best for the team.”

“[The job is] to get the most out of myself, of the machinery, to get the most out of the result as a whole team – that’s the focus.”
