Valtteri Bottas has won the Sprint Qualifying race for the Brazilian Grand Prix, meaning he’ll start from pole position.

Details:

  • The Mercedes driver overtook Max Verstappen, who started first, through turn 1 and went on to win the race.
  • Bottas said the Sprint race was “all about trying to survive” until the checkered flag.

What he said:

  • “The start was the key thing for me. We gambled a little bit with the soft tire, we knew that it would be a benefit for the start and it worked. And then it was all about trying to survive until the end.”
  • “It was quite tricky at the end, but Max still struggled to follow in some of the corners, so I’m glad it worked out perfectly.”
