Carlos Sainz has praised Scuderia Ferrari’s approach to team tactics at last Sunday’s Mexico City Grand Prix.
- Sainz has spoken about the goals that Ferrari chased by switching positions of the drivers.
- The Spaniard believes that the process of driver swap was successful.
What he had to say:
- “The target was to to give myself a chance to go and catch [Pierre] Gasly so Charles [Leclerc] let me by to go and try and catch Gasly. I fell short and then I gave back the position to Charles. I think we’ve seen this in many other teams.”
- “What is important is that we get confident as a team to do it and respect the team orders because [if] it will happen later this season or in the following years to come that we might be in a similar situation, as teammates and as a whole team we need to get comfortable at switching positions on track like we’ve done in other races. As a team, we executed it nicely.”
