Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto stated that the red team continues to be popular among the Formula 1 fanbase despite the latest survey results.

Why it matters: A survey of over 167 thousand fans revealed Ferrari is no longer the most liked team among the fanbase.

Details:

  • Ferrari, which got 18% of the votes, now places third place in the popularity list, which is now led by McLaren with 29% of the votes, and Red Bull with 19%.
  • Despite the survey results, Binotto believes the Prancing Horse remains as popular as it always has been.

What he said:

  • “First, we are focused on performance, that should be the priority. But i think popularity as well is important.”
  • “I heard about the results of the survey. I have to say, if I do my own survey today and I look at the grandstands here in Austin there is still a lot of red colors and I’m pretty sure that our popularity around the world is still very high.”
