The FIA has removed the curbstones at the exit of turn 1 after multiple complaints from the drivers and incidents in the support series.

The issue:

  • Multiple cars participating in the W-Series and national Formula 4 have been launched into the air after being forced through the curbstones.

The concern:

  • “While we don’t think a Formula One car will be launched, because we have much more downforce, we also don’t want to be forced to drive over them,” said George Russell. “If you’re driving on your own, you won’t hit the curbstones at all, but in a battle, someone may force you to take a wide line at this point.”
