F2, F3 reveal points system for 2022 season

Formula 2 and Formula 3 have presented the revised points system for the 2022 campaign.

Why it matters: F2 and F3 will come back to two-race events and compete alongside each other from next year.

Details:

  • The drivers in both championships will have 2 points for pole position and 1 point for the fastest lap in a race.
  • The top 8 drivers in the F2 Sprint Race will be awarded with points (10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1), while the top 10 will get points in the F3 event (10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1).
  • The points allocation in the Feature Race remains the same in both championships.
