Pierre Gasly is satisfied with his result at last Sunday’s Turkish Grand Prix.
Why it matters: The Frenchman finished 6th at Istanbul, though his race was affected by a time penalty for causing a collision with Fernando Alonso on the opening lap.
Details:
- Gasly believes that he did not have much space in turn 1 at the start.
- The AlphaTauri driver is happy to have overcome the challenges and come back to the top 10.
What he had to say:
- “We were three-wide and obviously it’s always very tricky in these sorts of situations. I haven’t really seen the footage yet, but there was a contact. I tried to go pretty much where I could, but with Sergio [Perez]on the inside and [Fernando] on the outside, it was pretty tight coming into turn 1.”
- “I’m really pleased with our performance. To be back in the top six is fantastic, and also only 10 seconds from the podium, considering we had the five-second time penalty. So we were clearly in the mix today, finishing a couple of seconds behind Lewis and not far from Charles as well. So happy with that.”
