Max Verstappen has spoken about his attitude to the ongoing championship battle with Lewis Hamilton.

Why it matters: The Dutchman is only 2 points away from Hamilton ahead of this weekend’s Turkish GP.

Details:

  • Verstappen assures that Red Bull Racing looks to succeed at Istanbul.
  • Verstappen thinks that his 2021 campaign is a good one regardless the final result.

What he had to say:

  • “Of course, we want to win, the whole team wants to win, so that mentality is definitely there. But there is nothing you can force or you have to stress about, because we always want to do the best we can. That’s what we’ll try to do, of course, [in Turkey] this weekend.”
  • “If that’s gonna be at the end of the year first, that’s an amazing achievement and that’s what we work for. But even if we would finish second, I think we still would have had a great season.”
  • “At the end of the day, it’s not really gonna change my life. I enjoy what I’m doing, and I think that’s also very important.”
