Red Bull and AlphaTauri will have a different look at this weekend’s Turkish Grand Prix.
Why it matters: Red Bull is going to pay tribute to Honda as the engine manufacturer will leave the sport after this season.
- The Turkish GP has taken the Japanese GP’s slot due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the celebration takes place at Istanbul.
- The main color of Red Bull’s new livery is white, while AlphaTauri cars will include the word “arigato”.
What they had to say:
- “The livery chosen for our cars pays homage to Honda’s remarkable F1 journey and hopefully we can give fans another victory in those legendary colors this weekend,” the Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner commented.
- “We know that a special livery cannot replace what would have been a very exciting weekend, but we hope that Honda fans around the world, especially those in Japan, will accept this special livery as a small token of our appreciation of their continued support over so many years,” the Honda chief officer for brand and communication operations Koji Watanabe added.
