Jack Doohan won the Formula 3 Race 3 at Sochi, and Trident managed to win the Teams’ Championship ahead of PREMA Racing.

Before the start of the race, there were already problems for Ayrton Simmons, whose car was brought back to the pits.

Clement Novalak and Jack Doohan started fighting for the lead in the first corners, but the latter managed to keep the position. There was some chaos at the first hard braking point after the straight, but no huge crashes on the first lap.

The fight for the Drivers’ Championship was already decided, and Dennis Hauger won it, but PREMA Racing and Trident were still battling for the Teams’ Championship.

Meanwhile, Victor Martins, Oliver Rasmussen, and Jak Crawford were fighting for P8. Hauger was attacking Juan Manuel Correa for P5, but while doing so, Sargeant and Crawford overtook him.

On lap 5, Frederik Vesti overtook Johnathan Hoggard for P3. The Trident duo was pulling away from the rest of the pack, while the PREMA Racing drivers were fighting to get as many points as possible.

Rasmussen, Hauger, Correa, and Martins were battling for P6. They were very close to each other in the second sector, and Rasmussen touched Hauger, who spun and dropped to P27. That meant that Arthur Leclerc grabbed P7, with Correa and Ayumu Iwasa behind him.

Doohan and Novalak came close to each other in turn 2, and they almost crashed. The team told the drivers on the radio not to fight to keep the lead in the championship.

On lap 11, Hauger pitted to change tires to set the fastest lap, while Rasmussen received a 10-second penalty for hitting Hauger on lap eight.

Vesti was closing the gap from the leading duo with six laps to go. Meanwhile, Hauger set the fastest lap of the race, but since he was outside the top 10, it did not allow him to score the additional point. Alexander Smolyar also pitted to change the front wing.

Meanwhile, Sargeant overtook Hoggard for P4. Vesti made a mistake and lost time.

Doohan and Novalak were still fighting, and Vesti got very close once again. The latter managed to get the second position with two laps to go. Despite that, Trident still kept the lead in the championship.
