Lewis Hamilton admitted after winning the Russian GP that he was astonished by the recovery Max Verstappen did.

Why it matters: Verstappen managed to minimize the damage even after starting from the last place of the grid by finishing second, right behind Hamilton.

Details:

  • Hamilton praised Verstappen for what he did, and he also underlined that Red Bull had been incredibly fast in 2021.
  • The Briton also added that beating the Milton Keynes-based team would be hard this year.

What he had to say:

To come from last, have a penalty, have two penalties or whatever it was, and come back to second, that’s mega damage limitation. We’ve got to see what we can do moving forward. It’s going to be tough to beat them, but we’re going to give it everything.
