Oscar Piastri claimed pole position during Formula 2’s qualifying.

Qualifying went underway and the first driver to set the fastest time was Jehan Daruvala, with a lap of 1:48.887, but quickly dropped down to fourth as Ralph Boschung took the lead of the session with a clear advantage, with his lap time being of 1:48.264.

Boschung’s time was later beaten by Guanyu Zhou, with a time of 1:47.994. He was followed by Piastri and Daruvala in second and third respectively.

After a brief pit period, everyone went out once again with 11 minutes remaining in the session. Not a lot of significant changes in positions happened until about 5 minutes to go, when Oscar Piastri took the lead of the session once again, with a time of 1:47.969. He was followed by Zhou who dropped to second, with Shwartzman third and Lawson fourth.

By the end of the session, Daruvala shortly set the fastest time of the session and claimed provisional pole, but Piastri recovered and with a significant advantage over second place.
