The F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali admits that he feels good about the progress of Sprint Qualifying.
Why it matters: Sprint Qualifying is a brand-new event in Formula 1 and its first two editions have taken place at Silverstone and Monza.
- Domenicali believes that the Sprint at Monza helped make Sunday’s race spectacular.
- The Italian confirms the decision on Sprint Qualifying’s future will be made after the third event at Interlagos.
What he had to say:
- “You may argue on the fact that the sprint was not so interesting. But at the end of the day, we had an incredible start, something happened, and you see that there is a McLaren on the front row,” Domenicali told Channel 4.
- “As we always said we’re going to do the debrief at the end of the third session, that’s going to be in Brazil, and see what type of things that we can bring on. But I think what we are doing is absolutely the right thing.”
