After a difficult start to the season, Daniel Ricciardo seems to have recovered his form.

Why it matters: Ricciardo struggled compared to his teammate Lando Norris, but as the season resumed after the summer break, the Aussie driver seems to have matched Norris’ pace.

Details:

  • Ricciardo qualified fourth in Spa, and after the race has been called off he also finished P4 in the race.
  • Ricciardo showed a great performance at Monza as well, and after the Sprint Qualifying, he will start in P2.

I think just the break, just August was good to just switch off for a little bit. It was hard to get that kind of step back and look from afar and kind of gain perspective. So I think it’s helped me return to a bit of form.

  • Andreas Seidl, McLaren team principal, also confirmed that the progress made by Ricciardo has been incredible.

You can see it in the data and we see it in the lap times. You can see it also in the way he’s coming across, he seems in a much happier place, which is normal for the guys when they see that they are back to the performance they expect from them themselves.

I am an Italian guy. I love Motorsport because of the emotions that it gives me and I grew up watching races. That's what I love!
