Theo Pourchaire was incredibly fast around Monza and managed to win ahead of Guanyu Zhou and Christian Lundgaard.

The first driver to have problems was Jake Hughes, whose car did not start during the formation lap, and he was pushed into the pits.

David Beckmann did not have a great start and lost the lead from Juri Vips. In third, there was Dan Ticktum, who was fighting against Theo Pourchaire. In the first corner of the second lap, Ticktum had to go a bit wide since he was trying to avoid Pourchaire. At that moment, Felipe Drugovich touched Ticktum from behind, the latter spun, and retired from the race. Therefore, the safety car was deployed.

At the start, there were also some contacts in the midfield down in turn 1. The drivers involved were Enzo Fittipaldi and Marino Sato. The stewards gave a 5-second penalty to Fittipaldi.

On lap 5, the race restarted. Liam Lawson was attacking Pourchaire. Lawson damaged the front wing while doing so. Meanwhile, Drugovich spun at the exit of Ascari, and the Virtual Safety Car was out on track.

Since Lawson had a damaged front wing, he was forced to come into the pits and change it. Another driver who had the same problem as Lawson was Ralph Boschung, who had to do the same.

At the restart, Oscar Piastri and Robert Shwartzman were fighting, and the Russian forced his teammate out of the track at the exit of Lesmo 2.

Piastri was down to P8, and he was fighting with Jehan Daruvala. Meanwhile, Pourchaire set the fastest lap of the race, and he was attacking Beckmann. On lap ten, Beckmann went long in turn 1 and locked up. That allowed Pourchaire to take P2.

Daruvala, who was sitting in P9, had to come into the pits to change the front wing. Meanwhile, Pourchaire was already behind Vips.

Shwartzman received a 5-second penalty while Roy Nissany spun at the exit of Ascari, he did not hit the wall, but he had to retire anyway. The Safety Car was deployed once again.

On lap 14, the race restarted. Shwartzman overtook Beckmann for P4, while Guanyu Zhou was third, with Pourchaire and Vips in P2 and P1.

Pourchaire attacked Vips in Turn 1 on lap 15. That allowed Zhou to get closer, but Vips kept the second position. Meanwhile, Lundgaard overtook Beckmann down in Turn 1.

On lap 18, Vips made a mistake in Turn 1. He locked up and went long, allowing Zhou and Shwartzman to pass. However, the Russian driver had a penalty which meant he was still outside the top ten. Lundgaard overtook Vips as well, while Piastri was very close to him. The PREMA driver managed to complete the overtake.

Lirim Zendeli stopped at the second chicane for some problems. Vips lost another position, this time it was Lawson who overtook him.

Pourchaire led the race until the end and took the win. Zhou arrived second with Lundgaard taking P3 since Shwarztmam, who was third on track, lost many positions due to the penalty.
