On Saturday there was qualifying for the Aragon GP. Francesco Bagnaia took pole position on the Ducati bike.
In Q1, Johann Zarco took the lead with a time of 1:47.293. He had been ahead since his first run in the first qualifying session. Behind him it was much more exciting. Brad Binder almost surprisingly took second place in Q1. Iker Lecuona finished third, ahead of Alex Marquez. A disaster experienced last year’s winner Alex Rins, who was only tenth in the first session.
Between Oliveira and Rins had pushed, shortly before the end, Aprilia newcomer Maverick Vinales. The last two places went to Petronas-Yamaha. Valentino Rossi was only faster than MotoGP newcomer Jake Dixon.
After the first outing in Q2 was Fabio Quartararo with a time of 1:46.727, which was not two-tenths slower than the track record. Behind him, after the first outing was Martin and Bagnaia.
And the latter got the fastest lap ever on this track in the second outing. With a time of 1:46.322, he took the lead, which he did not lose. Behind him lined up his Ducati teammate Jack Miller. World Championship leader Fabio Quartararo will start from P3.
