Carlos Sainz looked confident after his 7th place in qualifying for the sprint race in Monza.
Why it matters: The Spaniard and his Monegasque teammate Charles Leclerc start the race from two good grid positions, which could put them in a good position for Sunday’s race and thus for good points.
- Sainz said they saw how much they improved in the qualifying sessions.
- Ferrari would still like to see a better result going forward, but Sainz thinks it’s good to see things moving in the right direction again.
What they had to say:
“Since Q1 we saw that we were far from the top five, and it’s a pity, because we wanted to do well in front of the tifosi. The important thing is that we were able to improve as the sessions went on and put in good laps. We want more for the future, but today this is what we have. We’ve made a lot of progress compared to 2020.”Carlos Sainz, Ferrari
