Red Bull’s Max Verstappen thinks it’s unlikely to see many changes in positions during this weekend’s Sprint Qualifying.

Why it matters: The Dutchman experienced a difficult race last year, as he was stuck behind Valtteri Bottas during his opening stint.

What he had to say:

  • “It might seem like you have a lot of straights here but with these cars, it’s extremely difficult to follow. And I remember last year I was like just stuck in a DRS train. So it just all depends on the pace of the guy in the leading car, basically, of that DRS train.”
  • “Hopefully, we get positively surprised by it and maybe people will be a bit daring with strategies or whatever. But let’s see. Hopefully we don’t need t o overtake too many cars.”
