The Red Bull driver will avoid a grid penalty for changing his engine.

Why it matters: One of Verstappen’s engines was damaged at Silverstone when he collided with Lewis Hamilton. He is already driving with the third power unit.

  • Red Bull said that the Dutchman would face a penalty in the second half of the season because the maximum amount of the power units would be exceeded if he made another change.

“This engine is still very new, so we will see. It’s definitely not the plan to take it here [at Monza].
