Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher have spoken about the latest events between them ahead of the Italian GP.

Why it matters: The Haas teammates have had a couple of controversial moments on the race track with the climax at last weekend’s Dutch GP.

  • Both drivers have confirmed that they have had a talk with Guenther Steiner after the Dutch GP.
  • Mazepin assures that he has not broken any rules with his defence during the race at Zandvoort.
  • Schumacher hopes that all the disputes will be solved.

He [Steiner] has [talked with drivers], and good to know that I’m not in the bad books, so that’s positive. But I want to respect the privacy of the discussions, those were closed and I don’t think it would be comfortable for all parties if it was an open discussion, so I’ll keep it in that [way].

Nikita Mazepin

We’re discussing internally and I think everything’s been said from each party and I’m sure that hopefully we’ll find the right solution and the right way out of it… As of right now, I don’t think [the rules of engagement have changed]. Hopefully we’ll be able to race just as we do up to now.
