Yuki Tsunoda believes that the odds of him staying in Formula 1 next season and ending up without a seat are equal.
The Silly Season is in its active phase with teams and drivers making their decisions for the 2022 season. However, the future is unclear for the AlphaTauri rookie Tsunoda.
“I don’t know [about the future], but not this week. I don’t know,” he said ahead of the Dutch GP.
The young Japanese has also evaluated his chances to stay in the team and admitted that he needs to be more consistent in order to have the seat next year.
“I think the chance is 50/50. It goes up and down a bit, as it’s not a consistent season,” he commented.
“I think, to achieve that, I have to have more consistency and have to build up, step by step. The performance I show sometimes is good, and then sometimes what I show is really inconsistent, so we’ll see.”
