Valtteri Bottas expressed his desire for a multi-year deal for 2022, stating that he is looking forward to the new regulations for next season and what it means for racing in Formula 1.
Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff confirmed that a decision has been made regarding who will partner Lewis Hamilton next year, and Bottas did not say much regarding his situation in F1 next year.
“Yes, a multi-year contract would be nice,” Bottas admitted. “I really want to continue in Formula 1, for sure.
“That’s something I’ve never had before in Formula 1. That could definitely give you a good, full commitment to the team, not just that year, but knowing that the work continues.
“You know, things are going in the right direction. And I’m happy and I’m excited.”
After Kimi Raikkonen announced his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of the season, there has been speculation regarding Bottas possibly joining Alfa Romeo. That said, until an official announcement is made, the status of Bottas in F1 next year is still unclear.
