Timmy Hansen and Catie Munnings are victorious in Greenland as Andretti United wins the Extreme E Arctic X-Prix.

After qualifying and semi-finals were over in Greenland, it was time for the main events of the Arctic X-Prix – the Crazy Race and Final.

It all started with the Crazy Race as the fifth Final spot was up for grabs. Chip Ganassi Racing, JBXE, and Xite Energy Racing were in contention. Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky took the early lead ahead of Sara Price and Christine Giampaoli Zonca. However, JBXE was given a 30-second penalty for the tire allocation violation. Giampaoli Zonca made an exciting move on Price for P2. The American’s race was over shortly after due to the broken steering.

Oliver Bennett took over the race lead after the switch as Kevin Hansen had to serve the penalty. Though Bennett had a big advantage, Kevin Hansen was closing on quickly. However, drama came in the final stages – Bennett stopped at the track, which meant that JBXE was through to the Final, joining X44, Acciona Sainz XE, Andretti United, and Rosberg X Racing.

Five teams were in the Final and they all looked to succeed. Andretti United’s Catie Munnings was ahead but then was passed by Sebastien Loeb and Molly Taylor. Kevin Hansen and Laia Sanz struggled at the start. Loeb built a big gap ahead of Taylor and Munnings, who had a battle for the second place. Hansen got close to them by the end of the lap.

Disaster struck X44 as there was a rear right tire puncture in the car in the switch zone. Johan Kristoffersson in the Rosberg X Racing car inherited the lead. Timmy Hansen had great pace and eventually took over the lead. Kristoffersson did not give up and was attacking to regain the lead. He made a huge jump, but damaged his car and dropped back to the fifth position.

Timmy Hansen went on to cross the finish line first and Andretti United won the Arctic X-Prix. JBXE finished second, while Acciona Sainz XE completed the top 3 of the event.
