Scuderia Ferrari has announced that Charles Leclerc has got a new chassis following his FP2 crash on Friday at Spa Francorchamps.
The Monegasque had a big shunt on Friday afternoon in the Les Combes section, which ended his session prematurely.
After evaluating the car, the team has decided to change the chassis for the rest of the weekend.
“We announce that following the incident in the second part of FP2, the chassis of Charles’ SF21 sustained damage that cannot be repaired in a short space of time,” mentioned in the statement.
“Therefore, yesterday evening, a spare chassis was built up and Leclerc will use this as from FP3.”
