The Belgian GP is the number 200 for Daniel Ricciardo in Formula 1. For him, this is a very special event, and he wants to perform to his very best.
It has been ten years since the Aussie driver debuted in Formula 1, and he is now approaching race number 200. He admitted that he wants to do anything to make the Belgian GP unforgettable.
“It is going to be a very special weekend for me, as I will be racing my 200th GP. If someone had told me the day I debuted at Silverstone in 2011 that this figure would arrive, I would be excited. It is a great achievement and one of the greatest that I can be proud of. I am going to give everything to make it a weekend to remember,” said Ricciardo.
It has not been an easy season so far for Daniel, who struggled to find the right pace with his McLaren. However, he hopes that everything will be better in the second part of the season.
“After a few weeks without Formula 1, I’m looking forward to racing again. Spa is an incredible circuit and the perfect track to get back into racing. There are very fast zones and dramatic elevation changes. I’m back at the factory for work. in the simulator and I’m looking forward to being back on track this weekend,” he said.
McLaren as well considers the Belgian GP very important, and it is ready to make everything possible to make sure that Ricciardo will have a great weekend.
“This weekend will be very special for Daniel and the team as we celebrate his 200th GP together. Reaching this figure is incredible and makes clear the level of experience he has after ten years of racing. He joins a club of elite with more than 200 races. We want to do great work together in Belgium,” concluded Seidl.
