Mitch Evans has signed a multi-year contract to remain with Jaguar in Formula E.
Evans has won two races in his Formula E career and was a frontrunner in GP2 before he entered Formula E in 2017. He has been with Jaguar every year since and will stay with the team for years to come, as he signed a new deal with the team this week.
“It’s very good news and I’m very happy to stay within the family,” Evans said. “I had some very good options to move if I wanted to, but I’m really happy with where I’m at within the team.”
“It could have been a bit of a crossroad, a turning point for me to go elsewhere. I had some very good options to move if I wanted to, but I’m really happy. I love the brand, I love the direction and just the drive within the team.”
“I’ve achieved a lot with the team, and they’ve given me the opportunity, so there is a bit of loyalty there that I wanted to continue with. I feel like it’s a good position to be in. I believe it’s the right call for me and my career.”
Evans currently sits 8th in the championship standings, but any driver of the top 17 has a mathematical chance to claim the title when the Formula E season finale arrives in less than two weeks’ time.
